ZAP FAQ's
What is ZAP?
ZAP stands for Zeroes Aren’t Permitted. It is session that meets 3 times a week for all students to make up work that they are missing or on which they have received a low score.
Why do we need it?
Many students are unable to come to make up work after school, and many are unlikely to do so at home. ZAP builds time into the school day for students to improve their grade and get extra help on assignments which they missed or did not understand.
When is ZAP?
ZAP meets Tuesday through Thursday, for 35 minutes, between 2nd and 3rd hour. It is part of the school day schedule.
Students report to each class over the course of two weeks.
- On A weeks, they go to ZAP 1 on Tuesday, ZAP 2 on Wednesday, and ZAP 3 on Thursday.
- On B weeks, they go to ZAP 4 on Tuesday, ZAP 5 on Wednesday, and ZAP 6 on Thursday.
All students report to ZAP. Those who have an 85% or higher in the class for which ZAP is meeting will receive a pass to attend a Breakout.
What is "Breakout"?
Breakout is an opportunity for high achieving students to be enriched in a subject they might have an interest in and/or a reward for their achievement.
